Static and Dynamic Redemption Codes for In-store Offers
Two types of codes
Keepity provides you the option to use our default redemption codes, or to apply your own codes to your offer. When you choose to apply your own codes to the offer you are given the option of creating a "Static" or a "Dynamic" redemption code. This only applies to In-store offers. When you have an online offer, you will assign it an online shopping code.
What is a "Static" redemption code?
A "Static" Redemption Code means that every consumer will get the same code on the Offer. This is useful if the business doesn't want to keep track of individual redemption codes and doesn't care that each consumer has the same redemption code. You can use an EAN8,EAN16,Code128, QR, text or numeric code.
What is a "Dynamic" redemption code?
A "Dynamic" redemption code lets you assign a different code to each consumer. Dynamic codes are very useful for loyalty cards in which each consumer has their own redemption code. It also is useful for ensuring one-time-use only. If ensuring one time use is critical for your offers, see below. When you specify a "Dynamic" redemption code, you enter the starting number of your code. This is called the "Series Start". This number represents the first redemption code that will be assigned to the first consumer that KEEPs this Offer. The next consumer that KEEPs this offer will get assigned a code that equals Series start +1. The next consumer after that will be assigned Series start +2 and so on until it reaches the number that you specified in the field "This offer can be KEEPed by ? customers". For example, when you create your offer you would enter 8880000 as your "Series start". You then enter 500 in "This offer can be KEEPed by" field. The first consumer who KEEPS the offer will be assigned the 8880000 code and the second consumer who KEEPs the offer will be assigned the 8880001 code. The 500th consumer who KEEPs your offer will be assigned the 880499 code and the offer will then runout. If you choose to use EAN8 and EAN13 we will automatically determine the checksum so only enter 7 or 12 digits. Also, code typ "text" and "QR" are not available for dynamic UPC codes.
What are default redemption codes?
If you don't want to creating your redemption codes, we will create them for you. Simply select "Default Redemption Codes" and your offer will be given a random "dynamic" code. Each consumer will have a unique numbered code. If you want to see what the range of the dynamic codes is, simply go to the Offer Manager
Ensuring One Time Use
Keepity provide 2 methods to ensure one-time-use. The first way is to ONLY accept mobile redemption. When you create the offer you are given the option to specify the Limit Per Customer. This field defines how many times a customer can use the offer. Typical offers are restricted to being used only once, so you would enter "1" in the Limit Per Customer field. When you do that, the Keepity software guarantees that a mobile consumer can only redeem the offer 1 time, and will not display the redemption code after 1 redemption. If you only accept mobile redemption then you can ensure one-time-use by specifying a "1" in the Limit per Customer field. However,if you want to maximize the number of customers that can use your offer, you can also accept a print-out of the offer. Consumers can print the offer from their home pc, and , of course, that means they can photocopy the redeemed offer multiple tiimes. So, if you choose to allow printed offers, then you would want to specify a dynamic redemption code for your offer. That ensures that each consumer gets a unique code, and then you would need to manually identify if the code had been used before using standard scanning techniques.
